Steven Smith, chef-patron at Freemasons at Wiswell, has added to the Ribble Valley gastropub’s growing list of accolades by being short-listed for Best Newcomer in the prestigious Publican Awards.
Steven will go head to head with five other nominees from around the country at a glitzy ceremony at Grosvenor House on London’s Park Lane on April 6th.
Freemasons was a winner of the Pub Design of the Year at last year’s The Publican Awards and the recognition comes hot on the heels of Freemasons being awarded the coveted Bib Gourmand award in the new Michelin Guide.
Steven said: “Any recognition within the industry is always welcome but this nomination recognises the fact that we have only been going for just over a year. We won a string of awards last year but have recently fitted a completely new bespoke kitchen, so we are confident that this will help us further improve over the coming months.”
