Freemasons secures position in Top 50 Gastro Pub Awards at No.28

05 Feb 2014

The Freemasons at Wiswell has attained 28th position at the 2014 Top 50 Gastro Pub Awards as the restaurant continues to fly the gastronomic flag for the red rose county.

Last year, the Freemasons was awarded 37th position at the event, jumping an impressive nine places in just one year. Steven Smith, Chef-owner of the Freemasons and his team have shown determination to progress through the evolving menu and creative flair, which has been acknowledged with the higher position.

Along with receiving the highest ranked position in the North West from the Top 50 Gastro Pub Awards, the Freemasons is also the only pub to be included in The Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants at number 83.

Set away in the quaint village of Wiswell, The Freemasons has become a beacon to experts, locals and tourists alike. With a homely, yet stylish interior the restaurant provides the ultimate gastronomic experience for all their guests.

Chef-owner Steven Smith said; “I’m thrilled with the result; I always aim to do a little better, year on year - If I achieve that, then that’s the best reward. It’s extremely fulfilling to see the changes I’ve made recognised in this way.”
