Freemasons Food and Wine Club AND Special Guest

7 Sep

This event has finished and is no longer available for booking.

Thursday 7th September | 7:30pm | £50 per person

September 7th sees a change from the norm for our monthly food and wine evenings at The Freemasons. Our resident expert and Master of Wine Miles Corish will be joined by award-winning wine writer Simon Woods for an evening of Californian Wines, accompanied by some specially prepared dishes from Steven Smith. If your only experience of wines from the Golden State has been via the supermarket shelves, come along and be amazed by a taste of the real California, and discover what prompted Robert Louis Stevenson to describe the wines as ‘bottled poetry’. And even if you have enjoyed high class Californian wine before, you may not have had the chance to sample one that costs over £100 a bottle…

Throughout the evening, Miles & Simon will be on hand to comment on the wines and answer any questions you may have. And speaking of questions, Simon will be bringing along copies of his brand new book “101 Wine FAQs” (£9), which answers all the most frequently asked questions that he’s come across in 25+ years of writing about wine.

The Food and Wine club is a perfect paradise for seasoned ‘winies’ and budding amateurs to learn and enjoy food and wine pairing, in a warm friendly environment. The club is open to all existing member and new members…everyone is welcome. If you need any further information please don’t hesitate to contact us.
